The purpose of the AGM is to acknowledge the July 2022 - June 2023 committee, review highlights over the past year, present the financial report, and to elect the Officers & Executives to the committee for July 2023 - June 2024.

Thanks very much to the committee for all their work over the past year, working with all the difficulties and restrictions to put on some great events.

The Officers were: Syd Ward (President), Cary Young (Vice-President), Bill McCutcheon (Treasurer), Veronica Bird (Secretary), Michelle Bakelmun (Events Coordinator),

Executives: Kamila Shiers (Prize Coordinator), Role unfilled (Social Media Coordinator), and the committee-at-large: Warwick Beadle, Avrill Burchell and Anne-Marie Ward.

Stepping down from the 2023-2024 roles on the committee/not seeking nominations or nominated for new roles are: No names or positions listed.

Role unfilled (Social Media Coordinator).

Big thanks to everyone on the committee for all their time & effort this past year to support the Canadian Club of NZ.

As outlined in a previous recent communication, the club welcomes nominations to be submitted prior to the AGM. The nominations for 2023-2024 Officers, Executives and Committee-at-Large roles received are:

While no other nominations have been received-to-date, the opportunity still exists to nominate your fellow Canucks or to volunteer to join the committee from the floor at the AGM on Saturday 01 July.

If you’d like to join the committee, nominations remain open for Social Media Coordinator and Committee-at-large.  All our experienced committee would be available for a handover, and you’d be well supported in any role.

If there are no nominations received for Social Media Coordinator at the AGM, then post-AGM the newly formed committee will work with interested individuals to fill these roles.

The club encourages all to get involved with the club by joining the committee, or assisting with the coordination and hosting of events. The positions require joining us in a few meetings a year, and an event (or so) each quarter. Many of these are held online through Zoom.

If you are interested in finding out more about the committee and helping out, please approach any of the committee members at the AGM on Saturday 01 July during the breakfast, or e-mail the Canadian Club of NZ on: canadianclubnz@gmail.com
