Maple Cup Challenge & Nations Cup

Cheer on the Canadian Club of NZ as we take on the American Club in The Maple Cup Challenge, a slowpitch softball game played annually since 1986 between the American Club and the Canadian Club.  Maple Cup then followed by the Nations Cup: Japan vs Canada, USA vs Japan.

In 2023 the American Club was victorious, so the Canadian Club is keen to regain the Maple Cup Trophy!

A team of Canucks has already been formed, however, we need enthusiastic supporters, so, please come along and cheer on our team.

Please wear red & white for Canadian colours, bring some $ for the food & drinks from the clubhouse canteen, plus don’t forget to bring a great attitude and a big voice.

Time:

• 10:00am - 11:15am Maple Cup game (Canada vs USA)

• 11:30am -1:00pm Nations Cup game (Canada vs Japan)

• 1:10pm - 2:40pm Nations Cup game (Japan vs USA)

• 2:45pm - Prizegiving

Venue:

• Meadowlands Reserve, 41 Meadowland Drive, Somerville / Howick, Auckland

Food & Drink:

• Howick softball club canteen located next to the diamonds will be open!  The canteen will be open all day for food purchases. Bar opens at 12:00. 

• Please NO BYO or alcohol consumed anywhere at any time except in the designated bar area.

Weather: 

• We will go ahead unless the weather is absolutely horrible.

• If the weather is inclement the morning of Sun 24 Mar, please check for a notice about the event status on Facebook, or here on the club website.
