Maple Cup Challenge
The Maple Cup Challenge is a slow-pitch softball game played annually since 1986 between the American Club and the Canadian Club.
We have formed a team of Canucks who are keen to regain the Maple Cup Challenge title, however, we need enthusiastic supporters, so, please come along and cheer on our team!!!
You may want to bring a chair or blanket to sit on, cash/coins for the raffles, BBQ & drinks afterwards, Red & White clothing for Canadian colours, plus don’t forget to bring a great attitude and a big voice!
When: Sun 08th March, 2020
Where: Metro Softball Club, Phyllis Reserve, 22 Phyllis Street, Mount Albert, Auckland. Game start time is 1030am. The game will be in the upper field. Park by the clubhouse and follow the footpath up the hill to the field. Note: venue was Marist in Penrose, however, this had to be changed due to demand for fields for league finals.
Directions: Take the Southern Motorway to the South-Eastern Highway towards Penrose. After about 1 km, turn left onto Hugo Johnson Drive. After 250 metres, Simson Reserve and the fields will be on your left. There is parking at the club and on the street.
Timing: 9:30 arrival, 9:45 team warm-up, 10:30 game start, 12:00 (approx.) BBQ + prizegiving
Note: If weather is inclement, please check morning of Sun, March 8th Mar for a notice about the event here or on the Canadian Club Facebook page.
